The library media program mission statement in Information Power 2 states, “The mission of the library media program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information” (ALA, 1999, p.6).
In the Madison Central School District Libraries, learners discover, create, inquire, and think critically through shared learning experiences supported by diverse resources, teachers, and tools to produce and communicate new knowledge. It is also the libraries' mission to foster a love of reading while empowering students in becoming life-long learners.
Madison Central School District Libraries were awarded the 21st Century School Library Award for 2020-2023 at the Exemplary Level. The award is given during the Systems Change Conference in Pierre in October.
